Ceramic Birds | Short Course
30th June 2018
DATES: Saturday 30th June
TIME: 10:00am-3:00pm (4hours +1hour for lunch)
A short one-day clay modelling course where students will learn how to create thumb pots and the various shapes needed to create a simple ceramic bird. Students will decorate the models with underglazes and use the sgraffito technique to add details to their finished models. All the finished models will be glazed and fired for you and will be available for you to pick up at a later date.
It is advisable to wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, however, some rather fetching plastic aprons will be provided. Please feel free to bring along your own apron if you prefer.
The workshop will run from 10:00am until 3:00pm with a break for lunch. There will be places for up to 6 students at £60 each which covers all materials and firing costs. Please be aware that full payment is required to guarantee your place on the course.
Light refreshments and snacks will be included, however, you will need to provide your own lunch (alternatively, there are a couple of cafes nearby in Sowerby Bridge).
