It has been over 12 years since Deiniol graduated from the 3D Design course at MMU and he now returns as an alumni with his most recent ceramic work exploring form, function, pattern, and place. He has been increasingly experimenting with stone inclusions mixed into clay which can drastically affect the forms through all the stages of their creation. The inclusions also push his throwing skills to the limit; the act of throwing becomes a balancing act between the clay's tendency to tear and collapse, and the control needed to create the forms. It requires complete focus with every movement considered, otherwise the form will not survive.
