Coil Pottery | Short Course
3rd November 2018
DATES: Saturday 3rd November
TIME: 10:00am-5:00pm (6hours +1hour for lunch)
A full day clay modelling course for students to learn how to create a pot using the coil and pinch technique - one of the oldest forms of pottery making and still used throughout the world where access to tools is limited. Students will be able to decorate the finished pots with either underglazes or coloured clay slips and use the sgraffito technique to add details. All the finished pots will be glazed and fired for you and will be available for you to pick up at a later date.
It is advisable to wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, however, some rather fetching plastic aprons will be provided. Please feel free to bring along your own apron if you prefer.
The workshop will run from 10:00am until 5:00pm with a break for lunch. There will be places for up to 6 students at £90 each which covers all materials and firing costs. Please be aware that full payment is required to guarantee your place on the course.
Light refreshments and snacks will be included, however, you will need to provide your own lunch (alternatively, there are a couple of cafes nearby in Sowerby Bridge).
